Kia Jones, Associate

Kia Jones joined The Novak Consulting Group in 2012 and has experience working in security, law enforcement, corrections, social services, and local government. She has developed expertise in providing direct-support services, research, training, executive recruitment, and customer service.

Most recently Kia served as an Assistant to the City Manager with the City of Cincinnati. While with Cincinnati, she managed the City’s relationship with Global Spectrum, the service provider at the Duke Energy Convention Center. She also managed state and federal lobbyists contracts and served as the budget coordinator for the Office of the City Manager. Kia was exposed to a variety of special projects and made reports and presentations to the City Council. She was also involved in the recruitment and selection process for senior management positions within the City.

Prior to relocating to Cincinnati, Kia served more than four years with the State of Florida Department of Law Enforcement as a Criminal Justice Analyst and Senior Criminal Justice Information Technician. In this capacity she provided direct-support services for firearms purchases, senior leadership training, fingerprint analysis and criminal background updates in a call center environment. During this time she also served as a Criminal Justice Communications Liaison for the State of Florida Department of Corrections’ Emergency Action Center and was the Lead Analyst training new employees.

Kia has a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Troy University and a Bachelors of Science in Criminology from Florida State University. She is a member of the International City/County Managers Association (ICMA) and the Ohio City Managers Association (OCMA).
