Executive Director – Impact Church The Position Impact Church is Doing Church Differently – so a different type of Executive Director is needed to operationalize its ever-expanding Vision and support the lead pastor by providing supervision and oversight to the Executive Leadership Team. You will lead a team of passionate people committed to a unique ministry who are organized in the following vertical areas: Experience (Worship), Finance, Operations, Care (Spiritual Development), and Programs. All employees at Impact serve on vertical teams in these areas. Required and Preferred Qualifications A bachelor’s degree with graduate level studies in Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, Religious Studies, Non-Profit, Government or Business Administration will provide the educational foundation that is bolstered by ten plus years of real world experience in the private, public, and for-purpose sectors. While experience in a religious organization may be helpful, the creative fields will also provide a foundation for understanding what it’s like to work in this dynamic ministry. The Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate has spent their entire career preparing for a position such as this. This person is a global-thinker who is gracious and firm, is able to navigate conflict in a way that honors and respects all persons and perspectives, and is someone with coaching experience who can identify the processes that make an organization work and implement systems in a collaborative way. The ideal candidate has served as an Executive in the private, public or for-purpose sectors and is wanting to contribute their talents to an incredible ministry. Think about your typical “church” experience. Now, scrap that idea, because Impact is different – more Improv than Theatre. This position requires the ability to synthesize as the person systematizes, to zig while everyone else is zagging, yet never lose sight of God’s purpose, Impact’s mission, the ministry, and the people. The Ministry Impact Church holds as a vision to be a multicultural gathering of people who are committed to sharing the love of Christ with the world. Each week, more than 2000 attend five unique worship experiences on two campuses. Hundreds participate in small groups and volunteer their time, talents, and treasure to help the ministry reach people for Jesus Christ. A Capital Campaign kicks off in 2017 to further increase the scope of ministry at Impact Church. The story of Impact Church began with the lead pastor’s (Olu Brown) vision of a place where people of all backgrounds could come simply to be and connect with others without judgment. Along with other founding attendees of Impact, Olu dared to trust that God would provide the impossible, time and time again. Impact developed core values of service, prayer, honesty, community, compassion, and economic development. Impact became a place committed to building relationships before membership, to giving up to 10% of its revenue to those in need, and to insisting on more flexible operating processes. Within their first year they added a second worship experience. As God continues to bless Impact with unprecedented, phenomenal growth (#56 of 2016’s 100 fastest growing churches in the United States, Outreach Magazine), Impact continues to meet God in the places to which God calls – more experiences, larger facility, more sites, greater impact. Today, attendees worship and serve from two sites in East Point, GA (just north of Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport) – Impact on Sylvan (IOS) and Impact on Main (IOM). IOS hosts four worship experiences (often with overflow seating) while 50,000 sq. ft. of this campus remains undeveloped. Given that worship attendance has grown from approximately 1,000 in 2008 to over 2,300 in 2016, Impact is preparing today for God’s next increase. This position is a critical piece of the human infrastructure that will allow for Impact’s continued evolution. The Organization A dynamic church offers a dynamic work environment. This person will be asked to embrace what is best about the ministry and the culture and implement systems and processes to ensure ongoing excellence.
